  3. Hello world of changemakers,

Your blog never fails to amaze me. It always offers something new every time i visit it. This is a real WOW! The concept is very much similar to an associate degree in entrepreneurship. Your group is really something. It just blows me away. ;)

It's great that your target market is young maids who totally have no opportunity to make their lives better except winning lottery. I remember one of my family's maids before. She's already 18 years old then but she hadn't finished high school yet. We helped her take an advance placement test so she can have her high school diploma without spending more years to complete high school. Unfortunately, she failed the exam. The only way she could think of to improve her lot was to get married. So at 20 years old, she's married with two kids. I don't think her life was any better now than before. I guess things are more difficult for her now.

This kind of story is repeated a number of times in the lives of poor young women. Teaching them a craft such as accessory/jewelry making including the basics of running a business is a small step towards the right direction. This will build the confidence of young women and give them hope for the future. In acquiring skills and earning a decent sum of money, they will be empowered to achieve bigger dreams and encourage other young women that with the right opportunity such as Hand-i-Work, they too can improve their lives.

More power to Hand-i-Work. I look forward the day when this venture transforms society in a magnitude and impact that Gawad Kalinga (GK) is able to achieve.

This undertaking definitely lives up to the example set up by Mohammad Yunus.

    This is THE blog!

I really do think that entrepreneurship is one of the answers to address the social problem.
