In our book, Contemporary Entrepreneurship by N.A. ORCULLO, JR., Ph. D, the word social entrepreneurship is defined as..
..the idea is not only promoting the purely business (profit motive) side of the venture but it also focused on providing a venue for employment generation at the resource location mostly in the countryside... "instead of giving them fish, teach them instead how to fish."

I agree to this statement "instead of giving them fish, teach them instead how to fish."
ReplyDeleteThis statement is morally true because social entrepreneurship is not good enough to providing money but is best enough to teaching financially challenged people on how to make their own money for them to have a sustainable living.
this is a very wonderful and inspiring definition of social entrepreneurship. why don't we encourage more people to be in the social entrepreneurship world? be it the stepping stone for a change.

I found this saying by Bill Drayton which associates with this definition:
ReplyDelete"Social entrepreneurs are not content just to give a fish or teach how to fish. They will not rest until they have revolutionized the fishing industry."
— Bill Drayton, CEO, chair and founder of Ashoka, a global nonprofit organization devoted to developing the profession of social entrepreneurship
-Julie Teodoro
"instead of giving them fish, teach them instead how to fish."
ReplyDeleteI think that statement is very powerful, we, entrepreneurs, should help other people, specially those who are financially challenged, by making them learn how to make money on their own.
I think that this statement is very inspirational, as a social entrepreneurs we should teach the people how to have a business of their own and help them to build and make their business grow.

As an entrepreneur, I view this statement as a challenge to become more socially concerned. In the future, I want to give the less fortunate a chance or opportunity to grow and live a better life that everyone deserves. We should inspire them for their own benefits not just to earn money.
